Ian Tomlinson

I’ve been working as a psychotherapist since 2008, and the majority of my professional life is now focused on Imago: training therapists, supervising qualified practitioners, and presenting the Getting The Love You Want workshop for couples.

As a Faculty Member of the Imago International Training Institute, I deliver the full Imago training pathway, from foundational couples work through to certification and beyond. I also supervise Imago Relationship Therapists working towards and beyond certification.

I present Getting The Love You Want with my partner Joanna Groves. The weekend gives couples a practical, experiential understanding of why they chose each other, why conflict shows up the way it does, and how to move from disconnection towards something more genuinely loving.

Outside of training and workshops, I see a small number of couples and individuals for therapy. With couples I use Imago Relationship Therapy; with individuals, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

My broader training background includes Transactional Analysis alongside Imago. I am registered with the UKCP. I write about relationships and couples therapy at iantomlinson.co.uk.
